The FINAL Positions (21/05)

It is with great sadness that we have to report that League President Alf Banner passed away in the early hours of Saturday.

Alf had been a stalwart of the Colchester & District Sunday League - being involved both with clubs and then the committee where he progressed from member to vice chairman to chairman in 2001 where he remained until 2012.

Upon stepping down as Chairman, Alf was made the League's President and in 2015 was awarded the coveted 50-year award from the Essex County Football Association.

The Management Committee would like to pass on the thoughts and condolences of everyone involved with the Sunday League, both past and present to his wife and family at this most sad of times. He will be hugely missed.

PLAYER REGISTRATIONS

The 'Online Player Registration' system is now open via the Whole Game System

Please remember :

( a ) Get each player to sign the consent form and

( b ) You will need to confirm you have seen at least one item of their ID.

Any problems please email Steve Catley

8th July 2017

All of last season has now been moved to the archive, and possibly more importantly, the cup draws for next season are now on !!

1st July 2017

Information regarding the registration of players for next season is now online - please follow either this link to the registrations page or the new link in the main menu.

Further additions to this page will come as we move through the next month; the league have access to the Whole Game System to set up the league requirements over the next week to ten days after which time the system will be opened up to the clubs to enable you to submit your players for registration.

Further information will be added to the site and to clubs via email and Twitter.

Please note that once a player has been registered to a club, any further attempts at registration by another club may result in a charge and fine for both club and player - so please ensure that all players have signed either a paper registration form or your club registration / consent form before you submit your application.

Please also note that players may be subject to suspensions leading into next season, if you are not sure, you are able to check via the Essex FA website or contacting them direct for further information.

21st June 2017

For next season there will be two methods for registering players. For those clubs wishing to use the 'usual' method, registration forms can be downloaded at no charge from the link at the top of the page.

If you are planning on signing a player 'on the day' of the match you will need to print the document double sided, however, for normal registrations, only page one is needed.

Information regarding registering players online via the WGS (Whole Game System) will be forwarded to all clubs in due course.

Online registration does not open until after 3rd July 2017 but clubs can get started by getting those players who have committed to play for their club to complete and sign the 'player consent / registration' sheet that was enclosed in the envelope handed to clubs at the AGM.

28th May 2017

With this morning's matches the last of the 2016/17 season it's time for a quick roundup.

Congratulations to those clubs who finished Champions & runners-up in their respective divisions; AFC Pegasus & Duckpond in the Premier, Brightlingsea Regent & St Osyth in Div. One, Wormingford Wanderers & Vagabonds in Div. Two and Vikings & Blacksmiths Arms in Div.3.

Congratulations to go to the cup winners; AFC Pegasus (three), Flag (two) and Duckpond.

More cup congratulations to Wormingford Wanderers who brought the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy back to the League for the second season in a row - following on from Fox & Fiddler last year - same again in 2017/18 someone please !!

Unfortunately, there weren't quite enough weekends available to complete the fixtures in Division Three so those unplayed games have been treated as void as per league rule, but the final league tables are on.

A brief roundup from today is also on the site as is the 'final' top goalscorers list.

Of course, there are still some names missing from the list so now is the time to get managers or club secretaries to get in touch and make sure all 'your' goals are on the list.

The AGM is less than three weeks away so please ensure your club is represented or you won't be part of next season's constitution.

Finally for now, if any clubs are looking for friendlies or players for next season, please get in touch and I'll endeavour to get something on the site and out on Twitter for you.
