Welcome to the Colchester Sunday League

Latest news from the Sunday League.

  11th May 2008

Congratulations first of all to Colchester Athletic, winners of this morning's Wally Castle Inviatational Trophy Final. They beat Eastgates 2-1 at Foxash Social Club.

Elsewhere, the league campaigns were wrapped up, the results are on, the roundup has been written and the tables are up to date but all final positions will not be confirmed until the unplayed matches have been resolved at the next League Management Committee meeting on 20th May.

Details of the final tables will be published then...

As for next season's constitution, that will discussed at that meeting and then put to the clubs for vote at the League AGM on the 20th June 2008.

A page for 'players required' and 'players available' will be on over the next few days, if you would like your details added, please let me know.

Remember to get your LETTER OF INTENT in by 19th May 2008

8th May 2008

Evening all ... a few things for you tonight;

Firstly, a few alterations to refs for Sunday, so please ensure you check the fixtures page.

Secondly, it's the Wally Castle Invitation Trophy Final this weekend at Foxash - get along if you can.

I will be adding a new page to the site next week, which will give both clubs needing players / managers the chance to put on their details and also anyone who has contacted me looking for a club to put up their information. More news to follow ....

Finally, it is the last weekend of matches this Sunday. If you have games outstanding these will not be played - information regarding how points have been awarded etc will be published after the next Management Committee meeting.

6th May 2008

Referees' details for Sunday are now on the fixtures page.

Also, and this is one for everybody ...

Letters of Intent MUST be with the League Secretary by the 19th May 2008 at the very latest.

Please double-check that your Secretary has done this (by letter or email) and sent it to the League Secretary only. If they are not received your team will NOT be in next season's constitution.

There will be no chance of a reprieve, the 19th May IS the closing date.

4th May 2008

The fixtures for next week are now on - if any teams with games outstanding want to arrange a midweek match, please get in touch with Graham Osborne. (No Council Pitches Available)

Also and once again thanks to Tony Woodard, the match report and photos from this morning's Thornavon League Cup Final are now on.

4th May 2008

Congratulations to AFC Phoenix once again this week as they took the Thornavon Cup this morning, beating AFC Pegasus by three goals to two.

This morning's victory along with a victory in the Ruby Trophy and winning the Premier title gives AFC Phoenix the treble - so well done once again Scott Maul and everyone from AFC Phoenix.

Elsewhere things are coming to a close - only one more week to go ...

The results are in, the tables are up to date and the roundup is on.

As always, the fixtures for next week when I have them.
