Mile End has been closed again so some games have been moved to Shrub End while others have been postponed !!

Pitchbury v Doverston has also been switched to Ramsey Rec - please check the fixtures page for details.

Well, the weather did for us again with only six games making it today.

The results for those games are in and the league tables have been updated.

Also, after confirmation from Essex FA regarding the 'ineligible players' situation, the tables have now been altered to show the appropriate deductions for those clubs found playing unregistered/ineligible players.

It seems we are unable to deduct a further three points from any team found to have played 'ringers' so the rules are as in previous seasons; any club found playing a 'ringer' will be fined and have the points from that match deducted and awarded to their opponents.

As stated above, this has been confirmed by Essex FA.

Due to the continued wet weather, three picthes at Mile End are no longer playable, as such the Wivenhoe Old Boys & Quayside matches have been switched to Shrub End and the FC Byair match has been moved to Old Heath Rec.

Well, almost all today's matches got played with just a handful called off due to waterlogged pitches.

Congratulations to Real BTS who reached the quarter-finals of the Essex Sunday Junior Cup after their win away at Risden Wood, and congratulations also to FC Byair who overcame the challenge of FC Straws to make their way into the next round of the Junior Trophy.

Elsewhere it was a bit of a domestic cup weekend with the fourth round of the League Knockout and the first group matches of the Wally Castle Invitational.

The results are in and the league tables have been updated.

On the subject of the tables, there are a few points adjustments required for ineligible players - these are awaiting confirmation with the management committee but should be on later this week.

Next week's fixtures will be on a little later.

One extra result to bring you for those of you who don't know, Newtown Rovers' Andy Hewitt was alas undone on last week's Countdown, going down to the reigning champion.

Despite that, Andy put in a very good performance with his letters and numbers and helped to make an very entertaining show. (Please note, he hasn't paid me to say that !!)

Just four games made it through this morning, the results are in and the tables are up to date.

The latest set of fixtures was handed out to all secretaries at the mid-season meeting on Friday evening but please ensure you check the online version when it gets posted a little later in case there have been any changes for next Sunday.

All clubs affected will be contacted separately.
