21st April 2019 - Terry Martin Trophy Final

Colchester Crusaders2 - 3Riverbank Athletic

Referee : Richard Baker

4th Official : Roger Bowman

A beautiful morning in the sunshine greeted players and supporters of Colchester Crusaders & Riverbank Athletic to School Lane, Lawford for the 2018/19 Terry Martin Trophy Final.

A cagey first half saw neither side able to break the deadlock but after fifty-six minutes Crusaders took the lead thanks to Ryan Knill-Jones.

A second from Owen Griffiths after sixty-one minutes put Crusaders in the driving seat with just under half an hour to go but Dean Stone brought Riverbank back into it with a goal on seventy-four.

With time running out it looked as though the silverware was going the way of Colchester Crusaders but with only three minutes remaining Wes Henry's equaliser tied things up.

Surely extra time beckoned but Jordan Ellis was having none of that and put home the winner for Riverbank Athletic in the dying moments to complete the comeback and give Riverbank the trophy.

Full Time: Colchester Crusaders 2 - 3 Riverbank Athletic.

Many thanks to Lawford FC for the use of their facilities and Mr Terry Martin for attending the final, choosing the Man of the Match and presenting the trophies.
