Again just one match this morning saw The Tips beat Ramsey & Mistley 4-3. The game next week between Camulodunum Romans Res and The Tips at TLA will complete the season. The abandoned match; Chesterwell v Ramsey & Mistley has seen both clubs charged – hopefully the final decision regarding the outcome for that match will come in the next few days. The John Fowler Memorial Cup was introduced in 1976 and was renamed in 2016 to commemorate and remember the lives of all members of the Fowler family. This year is the 30th anniversary of Mercian winning the cup which resulted in Mrs Shirley Fowler (wife of John Fowler) presenting the trophy to Mercian’s captain – and her son – Scott Fowler.
