The John Fowler Memorial Cup was introduced in 1976 and was renamed in 2016 to commemorate and remember the lives of all members of the Fowler family.
This year is the 30th anniversary of Mercian winning the cup which resulted in Mrs Shirley Fowler (wife of John Fowler) presenting the trophy to Mercian’s captain – and her son – Scott Fowler.
The league consider it an honour to continue to play this cup competition and that the Fowler family are still represented at every final to select their man of the match and present the trophies.
